The Senate is a governing body for the University ensuring discussion of wide academic policies and any proposed changes that can be made to the University. The Senate comprises deans, heads of departments and senior lecturers as well as the Vice Chancellor. This is the highest committee of the University. The following are the senate members:
Vice Chancellor (Chairperson)
University Registrar (Secretary)
Dean of Faculty - Commerce
Faculty representatives - deans, deputy dean, heads of departments
One member elected by the University Student Union
Such other members as may be co-opted from time to time by the Senate, for periods not exceeding twelve months and on such conditions as the Senate may determine
